The EB-CLARIFY is a next-generation HTS-compatible all-in-one spheroid microplate that will protect your spheroids from being damaged during processing. Generate, process, assay and image spheroids without having to manipulate or transfer - and potentially damage - the delicate 3D cultures!
Each experimental unit of this microfluidic microplate consists of two wells that are connected via microchannels. These microchannels allow for disturbance-free solution exchange in the spheroid chamber. Thanks to this unique feature, any solution exchange is ultra gentle!
And of course, the round bottom spheroid well design enables the highly reproducible growth of uniform spheroids right in the center of the well!

Our all-in-one spheroid microplate is designed to be super gentle to delicate 3D microtissues. You will never have to transfer your spheroids, limiting the risk of damage. Processing delicate microtissues has also never been gentler! The microfluidic channels between the solution exchange and spheroid chamber limit the intensity of media changes and washing steps, protecting the integrity of delicate organoids. We optimized the microchannel design to allow for a soft yet time-efficient solution exchange.
NO RISK OF LOSING SPHEROIDS
With the EB-CLARIFY there is no risk of losing your spheroids due to pipetting! All solution exchanges are performed through the solution exchange chamber - you will never have to pipette directly into or aspirate solution from the spheroid chamber! The round bottom spheroid chamber lays lower than the adjacent solution exchange chamber and the connecting microchannels, so that spheroids are completely safe from accidentally being removed from their well.
Our EB-CLARIFY is fully adapted to standardized 96-well microplate formats for automated handling and screening purposes - no specialized equipment required. The all-in-one microplate features 48 experimental units consisting of a solution exchange chamber and a spheroid chamber connected via microchannels. Thus, each plate hosts 48 spheroids and, thanks to the unique design, is fully compatible with automated lab equipment such as liquid handlers, plate hotels, and high-content screening imagers.
When you’re ready, image your spheroids directly in the EB-CLARIFY! The base of each spheroid chamber is ultra-thin, optically clear and has low auto-fluorescence, so that you can produce high-resolution images of your generated spheroids with ease using plate readers and high-content screening platforms. And thanks to the conical shape of the spheroid chamber, your 3D microtissues will remain centered.
Microplate wells are prone to evaporation, especially those around the outer border of the plate. This can lead to unwanted variability in the data and even loss of cultures. As for our HTS-compatible neuronal co-culture device , the frame of the EB-CLARIFY features integrated reservoirs along the edges that can be filled with liquid, minimizing evaporation in the outermost wells of the plate. Maintain healthy cultures for longer!
